There should be a round and a square plug under the bonnet behind the passenger side front strut top (above the aread of the passenger side repeater indicator).

Their may also be a flap in the carpet under the front edge of the driver seat with 2 * 8 way plugs for 'Tech 2'

So its tech2 only - hmmm.. check engine might remain!

Your connectors should be under the front of the drivers seat, one green, one black.

The flap of carpet is in the middle of the "beam" between the two front mounting points.

What model exactly is your car? Engine size, turbo or NA?

 

Its a 1993 (K) plated 9000 cs non turbo with a silver AIC valve rather than DI cart.

 

Does anyone know anybody who will plug this in or maybe just do a diagnostic in the warwickshire/west mids area? Im driving to spain in a few months and want to make sure all is well before hand and ideally cure this annoying little cutting out fault.

I have a flap in the carpet under the driver's seat on my MY96 CD but there is only the green connector there. No black one - just a hole (no, not a black hole

). Has this been removed or should it be like this?

Not sure about the non-turbo but if it's a turbo, then the diagnostic connector on a MY '96 should be just below and to one side (the left?) of the steering column, with a black plastic cover over it.

BillJ, you don't know the pinouts by any chance for the diag connector? Or does anybody know for that matter ?

 

My car is a MY95 Griffin with the 3.0l V6 engine.

Checked this morning and definitely no socket near the steering column or in the engine bay - only the one under driver's seat.

When did they switch to underseat? Was there a specific date or does it depend on model or build factory?

 

Hi All

Still I have not found a socket but did resolve all my problems with a 5 pound multimeter/circuit tester - a new and exciting experience I have to say. No check engine, no cutting out, more responsive although i did need to replace/clean a couple of basic things.
