"Them Plastic Bits Which Hold Carpet and Trim in Place"

God only know what they're called but I hope you understand......... I'm on about the plastic push through clips used to retain the trim in place, in particular the ones that are used to hold the carpet in place on either side of the front footwells.

Mr "Carkit" at some stage (not while I owned the car) felt the need to remove the cowl in the passenger seat footwell which covers the pipes for the aircon. He broke the clips and now the cowl is hanging off.

Anyone know where I can get spares from (sand coloured trim) - I only need a couple to do the job but a few more would be useful as spares

I wont shoot anyone who says "try your local dealer" but my experience of them is well......... If that is the only route then a part no. would be useful. I think they should be the sort of things that any respectful Saab owner should have in their toolbox as the clips can be so flimsy.

Thanks in Advance

I went to a Saab dealer in Sidcup who is not there anymore, but any Saab parts dept should have these.

For the carpet cover they are called Rivets, and the Light Beige ones are part number 4824330 (based on a search of a MY98 car but I dont see why this should have changed - worth checking with the parts dept though!). You need 3, I am not sure if they are sold as 1 pack of 3 or 3 singles!

For the boot I cna see a Rivet in black that looks like it holds the boot trim to the boot lid, they are part no.: 5127683

Please do check these part numbers just in case I have given you the wrong ones, but hopefully not!

Cheers

Give Saab city a call - they will stick some in the mail for like the price of a postage stamp! They have even sent me bits like that even FOC - Very decent chaps there in the parts department!

As far as the place in Sidcup goes,... or went!!!- I think it's a good thing they didn't have those bits - for one they would have been very dangerous with them if they did - and two - if they ordered them in they would have ordered the wrong ones or forgot to order them!! And if they did actually manage to get them in - they would have installed them wrong or told you wrong how to install them!
