I have saab 9-5 2005 aero. The dipped beam isn't working. A mechanic looked at it and checked fuses. He opened the relay box and thought there was a missing relay and there was a red wire connection that he thought wasn't supposed to be there.

Turn the headlamp switch ON, remove the weather shield cap behind the dipped beam bulb, and wiggle the bulb's wiring connector. The cause may be a corroded ground (earth) connection between the bulb and the headlamp socket.
Fuses 10 and 12 are used for dipped beam (non-xenon) (11 and 13 for main beam). The dipped beam relay is relay 8 (main beam is 8a - unfortunately they aren't interchageable). 228b is the bulb filament sensor. WIS says to check fuses 7, 20 and 35 too.
