If the problem suddenly happened then it must be something to do with the actuation.
If the solenoid is out of phase then maybe the TB is set fully openwhen it should be closed.
As to the spring it may work just the same in either direction if a force is applied.

Just thought I would add a comment as I had this full throttle problem myself today.
It happened after driving the car a short distance and restarting....as soon as the engine started it went to very high revs and I immediately turned the ignition off.
It started fine a few minutes later.
My best guess is that this is linked to the DPF regen and that I probably interrupted a regen although I will hook up opcom later and check the back pressures and distance since last regen..which may shed some more light on this.
I will also check the oil for any sign of extra diesel.

The car in question is my latest addition a 2009 1.9TID Wagon Auto.
It happened again yesterday x2 which is worrying.
Switch off ignition, remove key and restart overcomes the problem.
No codes and opcom shows 126km since last regen 46% saturation etc so nothing to do with regens and oil level good.
My feeling is that it probably has something to do with the throttle pedal actuation/switrches although I dont know how it all works at the moment.
I am going to actiavte the pedal a few times before starting and see how we go from there.
If it keeps doing it then WIS beckons....and Ebay for spare bits!
