Hi! I'm new to this forum and hoping to find an answer to my problem.

My baby won't start since yesterday :( I had to change the front exhaust pipe, but I don't think that caused the problem. I wonder if the problem could lie within the High pressure fuel pump? Not sure what should I check first. I've tried plugging in my PC, but it only has OBD I so showing completely wrong errors. My friends diagnostic computer would not connect.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Regards,
Artur

1st thing would be to check you not pulled any of the wires off, because a simple downpipe change shouldn't stop the car from starting..

That's what I thought, really has nothing to do with starting of the car, or does it?
It might be worth mentioning, that sometimes the engine seems like it want's to start, but as soon as it is "fired up", it turns off again. Possible fuel pressure beeing to low? I was told by a friend mechaninc to check the injectors whether they're shooting up fuel when a pipe on the rail is blocked. I'm gonna try this first thing tomorrow morning, but was looking to have few more options to give a more detailed update if problem not found.

Well I hope it is gonna turn out that it is down to a damaged sensor... I've tried checking the injectors, none of them seems to be leaking fuel or anything like that.
Funny thing, when I doscinnected the pipe that goes on top of the injectors, and tried to start the car, it started! But then after about 30s it went off again and didnt come back. I'm really confused as to what to do now. It is raining so I cant bring my desktop out to connect it with OBD II, because it should show some kind of an error right? Either a poor fuel pressure, damaged injector or other sensor? I mean, the car seems to be really... smart, so I can't see her not telling me about it...

Well I think I've found the problem. According to my dad, the in-tank fuel pump is letting the air into fuel system. Before I go buying it, is that a possible reason for the car not starting? And if so, anyone knows how much does this pump cost in England? I've asked a dealer in Ireland and they've told me 450e + vat! And I would have to wait few weeks for it... So I am desperate to get it, if that is the thing thats gone, no matter where I would have to go to get it.

It sems more than a coincidence that the pump has caused a problem at thesame time. I would chack wiring forst, also check you havent broken any earth straps or crushed/damaged a fuel pipe

Well yeah, I know it would be coincidence, but it is letting the air throught as we have checked it. Just wondering if that coincidence could be the reason for my problem. I did check all the wiring, earths, pipes etc etc and everything looks fine.

So, i got the car going. Turns out that the particulate filter was completely blocked (damn!). Got it regenerated and car is working... almost perfectly. Never heard it so quiet :) But now I'm getting another problem. I have the check engine light on with error p2279 (Air intake leak). I checked all the pipes, one of them seemed a bit loose, so i tightened it. Also took out the EGR valve and cleaned it. My friend checked the car with an op-com computer. All values on the air-flow meter, the turbo boost etc etc seemed right. Any ideas where to look for the problem? I am getting a bit tired of the car at this point, but I still love it so much! Any tips appreciated!

The car also seems to be leaking power. I need to get it up to about 2500-3000 revs to be able to speed up properly. It has problems going up the hill, doing 2000 revs on 5th gear! It doesnt seem normal, does it? The mechanic said that he has reseted the particular filter and that it shouldnt be causing any problems... Really confused right now.

The DPF had actually to be taken out from the car, and put into chemicals in order to clean it, because due to the fact that I couldnt start the car, I couldnt force it to go into regen. But the computer said that it was 68% blocked.
