I have no experience of Akebone pads but have used EBC Red Stuff in the past. Initially I had Brembo grooved discs but didn't really find them any better than normal plain cast ones and they were noisy. A sort of purring noise whenever you braked.

Although billed as low dust I found the Red Stuff anything but. I was forever having to clean the front wheels. They really worked though. I could never get them to fade even though I got them red hot ( literally) during a track day. The only down side I found was that they needed a good firm push to get them to work first thing in the morning 'till you got a little heat in them. Only of concern if you needed them in a hurry straight away. More recently I have used Ferodo 2500 pads. They seem pretty good though availability can be a problem.

Akebono's that I put on with Brembo rotors have not shed any dust in a year. Quite amazing. Very good prices at A1 Concepts on line and out of calif.

The consensus seems to be, both on this and the other bulletin board I posted on, that the centric's + akebono's are of very high quality so I went with them. I'll be installing them this weekend so we'll see how they are.

 

Let us know how it goes, I am getting tired of cleaning the brake dust off and look for an alternative.
