electric folding mirrors

Hey guys! I have a SAAB 9-5 from 2006 with these electric folding wing mirrors. These work fine sometimes but other times they seem to get stuck halfway or not move at all. I still hear the motor working...

Is there anything I can do to improve the movement of the mirrors? WD40 or something to lubricate the hinge?

any help or ideas very appreciated!

I don't know if it's the best thing for it, but I've been using silicone spray on my nearside one. When it gets a bit warmer I'm going to open it up and see if there's some debris jamming it.

thanks for replying! I will try cleaning it as much as I can without opening it up, maybe with some spray, and then coat it with Lithium grease....

It could be something wrong with the motors, but I'm more convinced that it's debris and general gunk getting the mirror to get stuck.

My nearside mirror wouildn't return to normal position, and then began to over-run. May be that some misalignment had crept in, but a mixture of WD40 and manipulation (i.e. elbow grease) seems to have saved the day and saved me several £££££ :
