Driveshaft vibration?

Following on from my recent gearbox woes, the N/S inner gaiter had to be changed a week later after it was damaged during the initial surgery. Since then the car has felt "thrumy" at speed and slightly more so under power - if you declutch at speed it is still there and can be felt through the steering, pedals and bum, even SWMBO can feel it!. I understand they removed the outer joint to change the inner gaiter and I wonder if it went back in the same alignment, my Haynes book says you must mark the joint and shaft before disassembly to ensure correct refitting. Before I have a go at the Indie about getting it fixed(they tried to patch the gaiter initially and probably didn't have a new one in stock and thought I wouldn't find it, then the outer gaiter was loose which I fixed and I found the rear engine mount completely loose as well ) can wrong alignment be done and what should I look for. I am taking it back but want my head straight before I do. I have driven round in circles to test the joints and that is fine and the wheel bearings seem ok - hope it's not the box as I am having a few confidence issues after the other little faults

The car was lovely and smooth before all this and only started feeling harsh after the driveshaft work - any thoughts?

Seems odd, I have never had a vibration after removing drive shafts, even after splitting the outer cv joint from the shaft. If a stretch boot was used or if it was fitted by removing the tripoid joint from the other end then the outer cv would not have been split.
You could check if the wheel bolts and hub nut are tight, (and other suspension bolts likely to have been undone) especially if a torque wrench has not been used. Do not know about the 9-5 but on some cars the hub nut should be replaced if removed since they are sometimes a lock nut, particularly if a split pin is not used. This was the case on our 900i. Was grease put back in the inner joint, it always runs out when I have removed the boot.
