Blower Fan won't stop - replaced resistor pack already

All,
I've got a 1999 Saab 9-3 with single zone electronic climate control.

The climate control refuses to shut off after the car is turned off, and while it is running the fan speed is almost always on high (every so often it dips down to the actual fan setting).

I've actually had the climate control disconnected for a year or so as it took me that long to track down a resistor pack (as I'd read this was a common problem), and this has now been replaced. It seemed OK for a while (maybe wishful thinking?), but then the original fault came back.

Is it feasible that the resistor pack has gone faulty that quickly (i.e. in two months), or should I be looking elsewhere? Does the control unit itself ever go wonky?

Any help and thoughts appreciated.

Regards
Jo

ACC can be tricky to diagnose. You have allready calibrated the ACC and got no errors, right?

The blower motor has permanent +12V and is grounded by the fan control module (also referred as 'resistor pack', though it is far more functional than that). This module is again controlled by the main ACC control module.

SO the first step should be recalibrating the ACC. Then it gets more complicated with (DIY-able) measurements under the dash. Are you willing to do that?

Boris,
Thanks for all the help. I'll start with step one of your response :)

Nope - I've not calibrated the ACC.

From some quick googling, it looks like I do that by disconnecting the climate control unit.. re-connecting it, and pressing 'AUTO' and 'OFF' simultaneously. Presumably I do this (the button pressing step) with the ignition on?
