Okay so the saab got in a wreck that damaged the front of the hood slightly. there are 2 spring loaded "locks" or "guides", one on each side of the car right about where the headlights would meet. It seems like the lock on the driver side isn't freeing itself out of the hole. I have pulled the hood so hard I've almost lifted tires off the ground and nothing. Anyone know how to free this thing? Really hard to get even a flat head in there. Thanks in advance for any ideas

Sounds like the location pin on the hood is bent out of position due to the crash. Have you tried pushing down on the hood to relieve pressure on the mechanism on the body. Hopefully this will allow the thing to un-latch, then you can pull up the hood. Will take 2 people to do this of course. It's a long shot but give it a go.
If the bumper is damaged, you can oull the grille out (it'll break), that will give some access to the latch if the previous ideas don't work
