Well a relay fuse box in the engine bay next to the battery, is it something do to with the cooling eg the fan (it does work!)

Most likely because the blue wire down by the radiator thermal switch for the fan is a common failure item.

Yea thats it, so really I need the switch I want it running as normal again.

I would guess it is running as normal, that's why the repair wire is there.

No, it's the blue wire that corrodes, not the switch!

So what do I do now!, I thought I'd just replace the switch.

You need to replace the blue wire - you can lift the inside of the relay box out and get a new wire through the gland on the bottom and then its a matter of soldering it to the right relay connection and making a new connection right down on the radiator switch.

You mean you want it to *look* right? I know the feeling, i'm like that too which is why I end up spending 4 times as long doing a job properly or to put right someone elses bodge job - especially around the house.
