Hey folks, just purchased a 9-3 ttid 180 and getting what seems to be noise which sounds like a wheel bearing on the way out. I have read searched threads that this could also be tyre related but im just covering all bases. Also going to do the water pump as the person i bought the car from had said it had been done, but on inspection of paperwork it was only a timing belt kit that was replaced. just looking to see if the perts below are the ones i require.. Fortunately i work at euro carparts so i get everything at cost ;)

Firstly, you're banned immediately unless you arrange for trade membership at ECP for me. Just kidding (mostly).

Re. the noise - is it coming from the front or the rear? If it's the rear, then yes, it is much more likely to be from tyres than a bearing. Worn bushes in the rear upper control arms cause the rear wheels to have too much negative camber, which makes the tread wear unevenly on inside edge of the tyres and this causes the noise. There are three ways to check for this - look for uneven wear on the rear tyres, or move the rear wheels to the front and vice versa and see if the noise moves with it, or undo the bolt on the outer end of the upper control arm and see if you can move the bush by hand - if you can then it's worn.

And finally, where's my trade card? lol

Hi turbo, what make of tyres are on the rear uniroyal rs2 by any chance.............if you jack the car up a bit so you can get your hand in and run the palm of your hand over the tyre if you feel like bulges or uneven you can say the tyre is misshaped would say more this rather than bearing

as for the waterpump yes i would say this is the one has 3 fixing holes heres a pic of the genuine one
