Hi all,

Sorry to trouble you with this age-old question, but I'm a bit stumped. I'm selling my trusty manual 1998 2.3 FPT Anniversary.

It's the one with the Aero engine. It's got 1220k miles with FSH (Saab + specialist), recent tyres & brakes, brand-new exhaust back box, and has just had 6k miles oil change.

It's in Auto Trader (and on here as well) for £2895, but I've heard nowt in two weeks. Is that really too much to ask?

Thanks a lot for any opinions!

It probably is a bit on the steep side given the way the second hand market is at the moment. My local saab dealer is selling a pretty good spec X reg (2000) 95 with 72K on the clock for under £7K

When I sold my P reg 2.0eco Anniversary with a similar milage on it I had to drop my price down quite a long way

Oops, 120k NOT 1220k. If it had that many miles I'd be putting it in a museum!

It's a cracking car, in excellent condition, totally and utterly reliable, with everything working. It's also very fast but I don't need to tell you that. Just can't believe it's not even worth what I'm asking - there are plenty of cars on Auto Trader with higher asking prices.

Any other opinions?

I bought my 97 (P reg) 2.0eco Anniversary a couple of weeks ago for £600 with a years MOT. Ok milage was 189k but it had a replacement lump at 160k with 30k on it. But it is all there with history and for the most part a great car for the money. I was looking for a 2.3 but they were out of my price range. I looked at a couple similar to yours and they were up for £2000-2500 for similar milage. So I guess yours could be at the top end of the market. If it is immac with FSH you should be close.

It would certainly interest me mate as it's just what I am lookin for. However, I am hundreds of miles away. That would seem to be the problem tho - your type of car has to be wanted by a SAAB enthusiast I think to be appreciated so it means waiting a while till the right guy comes along
