Hello all,

So we've done the suspension, and we've done the off-board diesel fuel-pump over fueling mods (i.e. The Abbott box, Tuningbox, Hirsch diesel pump software etc...)

What next?

Remembering that the later cars use Variable Nozzel Turbos (VNT) and thus have no wastegate, use an airflow sensor and can only rev so high because of the longer length of time it takes diesel to combust.

I notice on my car, that the turbo intake delivery pipe is one of those squashed pipes that runs over the top of the cam cover.. (Opel turbo engine style ) surely opening that up and having a bigger diameter will do some good?

Also, would introducing a vacuum to keep the VNT turbo vains in the airflow longer, produce more boost ?.. or would it just over rev the turbo.. and bugger the timing up for the diesel pump ?

Spelling aside for a sec, I was only aware of the Hirsch upgrade for TiDs - what are these others you mention Mark?

Hirsch only supplied an upgrade for the 115bhp diesel. They do not offer an upgrade for the 125bhp diesel.

Indeed. Hirsch only supplied for the older 9-3 TiDs (that is pre 2001 models). Their software modified the older Bosch diesel pump ECU.

Upgrades for both pre 2001 and post 2001 TiD 2.2 Engines can be found at -

Ah, OK, but I was actually thinking of the V6 3.0 TiD (should have made myself clear...
)
Anyone got any info on go-faster goodies for these (except for Hirsch!!) ?

By the way Mark, it's good to see EDS are just as "efficient" as my mob...

I could be worth contact Van Arkaan Developments in the UK, they have spent the last 10 years creating diesel tuning systems. Some are plug and play, others require setting up on their rolling road.

Hi ,new on scene!
Afther asking lots of advices to Saab Turbo Team , i start to have my own experiences , the first i should read more carefully what MarK (Tid Abbott) said about the difference between the 115 and 125 engine , GO to the 125 , not the same car !

Now i have a 115 Coupe from 2000 , nice car but very slow , now with the TuningBox goes better , no smoke , better in gear performance , less noise .

Since i drove a 9-3 Tid 125 and a Vectra Tid 125 with the TuningBox , the car flies , then i realise what Mark speaks about .

One more from TuningBox , he have a company Galaxy Tdi 116 Auto with the TuningBox and he goes almost as good as a V6
