I am going in for my MOT on my CSE on Sat so I took it down to my local Saab genius... he said that the wastegate was not connected and I should notice a difference, does he mean speed?

I am picking it up at 7 tonight, should be interesting...

what has happened is that because the wastegate rod was not connected the wastegate is natuarally open
when open the exhaust gases goes through instead of turning the turbo...
result no or little boost
connect it up and it works as it should opening when the apc valve tells it
result lots of lovely boost
so now dave's car is working as it should...

Now I suddently realise why you need stiffer suspension... the nose is all over the shop during sharp acceleration / gear change...

Think and investment in stiff shocks is called for..

Is it worth going for the whole suspension kit, such as here, or would the shocks on their own do?

Much discussed before Dave, but for optimum results, go for the full kit.

If, however, you're on a budget, then as long as you current shocks are not tired or worn, then you can simply fit a set of lower springs. I did this on my last CS and the difference was fantastic.
