Just a quick question. is it a common problem for the t piece in the washer jet system (under bonnet on LH side) to give in. LH washer not squirting, but it appears that there is a hole in bottom that is letting water out of it.

Is this a bursting disk? if so, is it ok to just block bottom hole for now till I get near a dealer for new t piece?

Cheers,

Pete

These are the non-return valves which stop the washer fluid draining back down to the tank and give you a quick response squirt when you put the washers on. Unfortunately, the rubber disc/flaps inside the T don't seem to like screenwash very much.

After a few years, the tiny bit of rubber goes soft and sticky and splits.
Result - no water out of the jet, plenty out of the back of the valve.

Solution - new valve.
