Well a fault on the ABS is an MOT failure. You will need to get the fault codes pulled off using Tech II to find out how wallet stressing it is - could be simple like a wheel sensor needing a clean or it could be one of those 'Oh my God' components...

Brakes are the only thing stopping you (pun intended) from going into that brick wall on the next sharp bend ahead so get it done sooner rather than later, your family will thank you for it.

Thanks boys-I'll trot along to the dealer.I saw some link which said pumping the pedal 5 or 10 times with ignition turned on but engine off would test the pump and determine whether it was the accumulator.I tried this and the warning light went off for a bit-alas not for long!Is this any sort of clue?
