Whenever my auto box is in gear - engine running or not - something electrical between the engine and the bulkhead runs continously and noisily.
By pulling fuses I have discovered that the culprit is the "Vacuum/Air Pump" - presumably charging the brake servo.
Is this continuous running normal? (Maybe it always ran all the time but I didn't notice until it became noisy). If not, where to look for a pressure sensor which would turn it off when its done its job.
The wretched Haynes manual does not even admit to its existence so no help from there.
Thanks
Mike
