Recently acquired a Saab 9000CS 2.3s FBT,the car had been standing unused for about 12 months. The battery was not holding a charge but when jumpstarted the engine and TCS were ok.When i put new battery on TCS has come on display and cannot get it to clear, stiff throttle pedal, engine runs but will not idle.Any ideas??????????????

welcome to the board kieth !
the tcs has put the ecu into limp home mode
this is when the electronic throttle is bypassed by a cable one ..hence very stiff... difficult to idle a/c off etc etc

there could be a host of problems causing the tcs light to come on
however because it has been sitting for so long unused it could be dirty connectors..
where to start ?
buy a haynes manual
pull all the relays and connectors in the tcs/abs circuit and give em a clean
if this does not work ..limp the car down to your local saab specialist that ,with tech 2, can pull the fault codes
this should tell you the good (or bad news )

good luck
