trying (and suceeding) to replace the gearlever bushes.

The old ones fell out (after I'd removed half the car to get to the one bolt), and the new ones were nie on impossible to get in.

Floppyness in the lever has probably been almost halved
Definatly a better feel.

I did this on the Aero a few months ago. Keep meaning to write it up. Sideways slop is completely gone (my gearbox has been rebuilt, of course - again and again

). Still some fore-aft play, but I think that's normal. I recommend it to anyone after replacing the rubber coupling to eliminate any movement there.
