is there really any benfit of allowing your car to idle for a minute before you switch off.
my handbook says do not blip the throttle before you switch off. but nothing about doing it to let the turbo cool off.
As I recall, for the most part you'll be generally fine but it's advisable to tick over 15 - 20 seconds or so to be completely on the safe side.
If you've been giving it lots of
(especially high speed runs for a long while, eg motorways, or a decent cross country trip), then a minute should be plenty sufficient unless you've not stopped for four hours or so of high revs/speed, in which case a couple of mins would be a good idea.
