Does anyone know the purpose of part #12789738 (small black part/cover that bolts to the thermostat housing itself). Is this just a drain for the thermostat housing?
Also, I was wondering what the purpose of the small pointed tip on the inside of the black cover?
It was leaking on my 2011 so I removed it and inspected the o-ring before reinstalling with a little bit of RTV on the lip of the cover.
