I have the message 'theft protection failure - contact service' and have browsed the net to discover that it is the rechargeable batteries in the alarm module that need replacing. I have sourced the genuine sanyos from the US and also the capacitors with the intention of swapping them on the pcb but I cannot find the damn module !! I have had both front wheels off and both wheelarch liners but I cannot see the module in either wheelarch, in either the front part of the arch or the rear part. All the posts on the net say it is in the nearside arch, either towards the front or towards the back but I cannot find it at all - unless it is hidden behind the washer bottle or something.
Having said that most of the posts are for the 9-5 or the pre- 2003 9-2's so maybe my car does not have one at all ? In which case how do i get rid of the error message if i have no module and no pcb to repair ?

My car is a 2006 vector sport 150 bhp 1.9tid auto

Help !!!!!!!
