thanks 4 the help, anyone know of a decent specialist within reasonable distance frm Oxford & would it be worth getting a 2nd hand engine considering mileage? or,anyone want a cheap car?

don,t give up on car/it is too good and rare. go to a saab specialist and get it diagnosed.if i remember rightly my saab man repaired similar prob.for400 ish.quid....this included saab recalibrating.

Mileage is not an issue with an engine like yours that's just nicely run in, if it's had regular oil changes.

I've seen carlssons with over 300,000 on original engines, and one aero at 2 years old for sale with 225,000 miles.
