Hi all, new here, sort of. joined in 2007. but cannot remember PW/UN. not been on here for some time. so joined again.
Car, 1996 9000.
Question.
Is there any way to connect a pioneer radio with system control wire to the buttons on a steering wheel?
or is a SID needed from a 93/95?
The GRN & BK/Y wires (in drawing attached) go to the clock spring wire. which also carrys the horn connection to horn fues/relay.

Hello, my car is a 2005 93 .
I left all the original radio etc in, because it was my cd player that was broken I fitted my new stereo in place of that. You have to connect the fibre optic cables together (connectors available from eBay). Use the cd player positive for the switched supply, negative for negative, take a permanent positive from the cigarette lighter, then join your new stereo's line output ( +&- ) to the aux from the Saab system. Leave the speakers connected to the Saab system.
This way you can use the steering wheel buttons on the car. Mine has its own dab aerial too. I made a facia for the new stereo from a sheet of plastic.
There are loads of tutorials on you tube.
Hope this helps.
