I've got a '97 LPT auto.

If I'm accelerating briskly (but not necessarily anywhere close to flat-out) then there's a strange sound as I pass between about 30 to 40 mph. My guess is that this is the change up from second to third gear.

The sound is very short (a fraction of a second) and difficult to describe - it's a bit like a very short burst of wheel-spin, but it happens when I'm accelerating gently enough that there's no real chance the wheels are slipping.

Any ideas?

There was a saab tech note about this.. its been discussed in the past.. there is an autobox fault finding flowchart on another site. They recommend the use of an additive in the autobox oil to "fix" it
