All autos (Aero included) had the 200bhp engine. Only the manual Aero got 225bhp.

All 2.3 Full Pressure Turbos had the 200hp engine.

IIRC the auto Aeros stuck with the Garrett turbo as opposed ot the Mitsubishi used on manual Aeros

As well as the maximum power difference, the autos produce about 295 Nm of torque as opposed to the manual FPT's 323 Nm (from memory) and 350 Nm for the manual Aero.

Bit confused. I thought the manual FPT and aero models from 1997 had the B234R engine with the same turbo and torque settings.

You may be right for the earlier FPT models though.

Yes, the last 2.3FPT models were in fact Aero spec engines- after the Aero was no longer being produced.

Sorry for the confusion. The point I was trying to make is that the Aero auto not only has less power than the Aero manual, but also a lot less torque, less even than the earler 2.3 FPT manual (234L engine).

- wont the engine designation give it away?? - someone email him and ask if its a B234R - surely this will clear up any confusion???
