I am getting a horriable straining noise from the steering. It only happens when I have been giving it full turbo, then slow down to take a junction or take a slow corner. If I drive without hardly using the turbo then the noise never happens, it is just ater giving it a good thrashing.

any ideas ?

as it is starting to annoy me, and is getting embarrasing as people turn and look at the car !

Do you mean a noise from under the bonnett??

The only thing I can think off that may be linked to driving it hard is may be the Drive Belt. Cos (correct me if i'm wrong please) doesnt the tensioner react to the load on the engine..?

May be worth looking at the drive belt anyway...

Just an idea. Hope it helps.

Have you checked your power steering fluid? Mine "groaned" at low speed manueov manoueve turning
, topped up the PS and that fixed it. And of course if your PS is low then it probably has a leak somewhere...

Hope that helps
