Newbie here and amateur car person!

I am having some nightmare problems with my Saab, recently the "limited performance" warning came up on the dashboard, and at first there was no symptoms, then suddenly, the car sometimes would not start, It started happening too often so booked it into the local garage, diagnostic came back as cam shaft sensor, and apparently the timing belt needed changed aswell..... I got a second opinion from another garage, who also ran a diagnostic and same hypothesis.

Anyways, Water pump, timing belt and cam shaft sensor changed, however this did not resolve the problem, crank shaft sensor was then changed, car returned and the starting problems were happening less frequently....

Few days later, it was the same again, in the morning, the car normally starts, its normally once I have drove it, parked up for a few hours, and then try to start.

Any thoughts anyone?

this could be fuel related ? , pump or injector seals perhaps , you may end up changing a few things to finaly cure it if there are no new codes stored

Well the problem does happen more often when the "low fuel" light comes on.

I am a bit tight for cash, and already spending £450 on the car and still not resolved, I am hoping someone can pinpoint the issue.

the vectra suffers from a swirl pot problem which is in the fuel tank , they get to say , around 1/4 tank and the cvar will cut out and not start again unless its pointed down hill

Hi there. For couple weeks i also have a problem with my 93 2007. Limited performance appears but no code to read, it disappears even if the car still struggles to start. At the beginning was starting a bit hard, sometimes by pressing the gas pedal was starting sooner somehow and since yesterday dont start at all. Only yesterday afternoon started a couple times. Practically yesterday morning didn't started and battery get empty. Then my friend gave me power from his car in the afternoon and started then and half an hour later, this morning died again. Untill now i changed the crankshaft sensor, glow plugs(old ones were also good), MAP sensor and have in plan to change also the camshaft sensor. Yesterday after reading here i also order a new starter engine wich i will replace over the weekend. The thing is my friend wich knows some mechanic say battery seems to work, starter spins, engine also. Have someone, guys, idea what could this be? Is really a pain since i font know what exactly to change. I have to add that after starting everything wirks ok, lose no power while driving, nothing
