have decided to keep my current 9-5 2.0lpt, and buy some performance goodies..ie st2 / 3 from elkparts new suspension and brake parts..several questions for you guys in the know...is it worth changing the intercooler? will it increase performance by much?? is any specialist equipment needed to fit the upgrades, ie rolling road etc or can any competant garage fit them (m8 is service manager at local rover garage and labour to me is about £9 an hour)...also will the increase in power cause excessive wear on the engine or can thy stand it??

soz for all the questions but a bit green with performance parts and just been quoted a phenomonal price for the bits (hirsch equiv) by reading saab...although the guy was very pleasant and helpful..

TIA nige

I do not know if the intercooler would make a big difference I'll leave that to someone else.
But all the upgrades are a simple fit and no specialist equipment is needed
Edit: as for the engine being able to handle the extra
I was once told by a well known Saab tuner the standard engine is good for 400bhp without having any problems.

I'd heard this as well, even on a standard head gasket.

Not so sure about the gearbox though.
