Hi guys, recently purchased a 2009 Saab 93 1.9ttid 180bhp,only problem is that it smokes when I accelerate and rev the car. I've had it for an NCT and it failed on smoke output, the car runs fantastic,I've had it with my mechanic and his checked the turbos and there brand new,I've also changed the air filter and checked for boost leaks aswell, there's no leaking from injectors or anything like that. He reckons it could be the egr? Anything else I should check? I'm a complete Saab noob

I’d suggest cleaning out your EGR valve and also the Throttle body, both easy to do but I’d suggest buying replacement gaskets for both so you don’t get any leaks when putting them back on. I’ve just done both of mine and they were very clogged, now it’s smoke free. As an extra clean use a good injector cleaner like BG 244, get a lot of crud out of the system and can restore lost power and economy. Hope that helps.
