Guys I've just discovered a rolling road about a mile from my house so I thought 'why not have a RR day for all those lovely Scottish Saabs'. It's at Dastek in Dalgety Bay
( http://www.dastek.co.uk ) (not that you'll learn much from the website as none of the buttons seem to work).

It's rated at 600bhp so even Ylee can attend :cheesy:

They do dyno days for (min)20 - 30(max) cars at £25 per car. That gets a turn on the rollers plus advise from technicians on the set up of the car etc. They are currently booked up until the first weekend in Dec so it would be some time after that before we could attend.

As I'd be astonished if we managed to get 20 cars to attend from the saab community I would imagine I'll have to open it up for other models to attend so if anyone has any suggestions for other cars that we could invite I'd be grateful to receive them. (It's 4wd so Scoobys are welcome.)

Can I get an indication if folks would be interested:

As long as it is not the weekend of the 4th Dec I will be there if at all possible. Will probably aim to bring the c900 Carly and the 99T (will bring the truck and trailer
) and can probably get an XR4x4 along to swell numbers.

Put me down for 1, possibly three

OK, as I've posted this on various sites I'll try to keep the running total as up to date as possible. For a bit of fun I've put down the power I'm expecting for my car to see how close I am to the actual figure.

Also found this thread in the Fiat Coupe owners Forum about their day at Dastek. They seem to have been impressed.

I haven't been on a rolling road before so I'm eager to hear stories of other peoples experiences that might help with the organisation especially with a view to the order of vehicles on the rollers. Dastek say that they'd like TFatC's XR4x4 on the the rollers first for some technical reason but after that is it best to have the less powerful cars first then build up to Ylees monster?

Also, a couple of helpful facts:

Fuelling: The local garage is BP and sells Ultimate but it's not the cheapest in the world. Optimax is available in Rosyth which is about 5 or 6 miles away.

Adaption Runds: If anyone is tinkering with their car on the day and wants an adaption run there is a good long hill on the M90 which is only 3 or 4 miles away.

Food: the BP garage has a Wild Bean Cafe which does coffees and snacks. There is also a Hungry Horse there which opens at 12 for meals. There is a restaurant in the local Tesco which does a good cooked breakfast for about £3.50 but it doesn't open until 10am.
