Greetings from a first-timer west of "the pond".
The phototransistor on my SCC has "gone south" leaving me with no daytime readout from the unit. Saab would have me replace the whole unit for about $450 US when the failed part is probably worth $2 or $3 US. Several folks have rigged substitutes as documented on saabnet.com, but they've all required pretty sensitive work on the circuit board or they've resulted in permanent, high intensity lights. I'm wondering if any of you folks have experienced the problem and what solutions you've come up with to solve it.
Thanks for any advice you can provide.
