It appears that Saab UK and Hirsch have not yet agreed terms and that this is unlikely to occur in the short term (according to the parts chap at my dealer).
So no Saab warranty, and no need to pay the extra for the Hirsch stuff versus Speedparts or Abbott.
On the plus side it appears the 18" alloys available for the 9-3 SS ARE a fit for the 9-5 after all.
So it looks as though some extra
is possible and within the warranty.

Coincidentally, I just bought the Stage 1 Hirsch upgrade for my 95 2.3 LPT from Reading, had it fitted today. I got it reduced from the list price, but it was still twice as much as the Speedparts ECU

However, I was happy enough to pay the extra for something that Reading Saab know about and can maintain themselves.

Only done 10 miles so far, but it's certainly got a lot more

Well now I really don't understand what's going on
I think I'm going to have a good look at these 18" alloys which my dealer is offering in the meantime. They look pretty cool and aren't quite as lightweight as the Hirsch ones, so shouldn't be as much of a problem on the great British roads with their oh so smooth surfaces.
Does anyone know what the price for these alloys is supposed to be?

I'd imagine your dealer is not fully aware of the situation...
The Hirsch specialist @ Reading Saab is in direct conteact with Hirsch in Switzerland...
If the deal wasn't signed he would not be able to sell Hirsch ECU upgrades, as these are now licensed to SAAb, he's been waiting a while to be able to sell them again!

Best get your dealer to find out the full story!
