I'm no expert and sorry to be negative, but I reckon you'd be better off buying a turbocharged 900 and selling your one if you want more oomph.

It isn't really worth spending money on tuning a NA 900.

You might also care to check out the stonking deals on older 9000's.

i recall reading on another board that the recommended 'performance upgrade' procedure on a N/A engine would be cams, intake, exhaust, fueling chip, or something close to those lines.

a turbo conversion is going to be a very costly job as much will need to be done.

- rebuild engine using lower compression or 'turbo' pistons

- new exhaust manifold, downpipe, possibly more

- APC (saab's version of turbo control integrating boost advance, a knock sensor or a MBC/standalone engine management system or something of the sorts (*note my understanding is vague here)

- rerouting of air intake

- possibly a new AMM to go along with the turbo computer (APC, MBC, standalone or whatnot)

- suitable, working turbo

- anything else i might have missed?

i would agree that if power and performance is what you are after, the purchase of a turbo equipped vehicle is the way to go. otherwise, sit back, enjoy the ride and handling of your Saab
