Good afternoon everyone,

My first post - just about to take delivery of my first Saab, a brand new 2.0l Aero convertable and i'm looking for a good quote on insurance. Having been involved in other on-line clubs (mainly with my motorbike) I know some of the best advice can be found on places like this. With that in mind can anyone point me to a very good source of Saab insuarnce....??

Any help would be gratefully received...

Hi & welcome etc

I'm sure you will love your car, I took delivery of my Aero convertible in September last year and am still grinning.

As far as insurance goes here is a wealth of information from other Saabists Insurance

I found Norwich Union Direct to be the best for me, but I am old(ish) with a clean licence in a relatively low rated area

Hope this helps.

I also am fortunate to have Hirsch stage 1 on my '98 9-5 SE

Also have the 7x17 upgrade wheels and tyres, Abbott Racing suspension, was Koni Adjustable front and rear, after a failed front shock now have Bilsteins up front, also fitted by Abbott, ARB's added, big Hirsch Stainless steel exhaust........

All mods declared and insured through Adrian Flux.

Excellent service setting this up as I went from company cars to my own Saab.

Live in a nice part of South Wales, but rates are typically high!!!

Hope this helps and enjoy the experience of Hirsch

Good Luck

93 Cabriolet 1.9 TiD with Stage 1 Hirsch upgrade, quotes so far :-

Adrian Flux - declined quoting.

Richard Wines & Levy - ÂŁ1,700 (if I had a tracker fitted)

Saab Insurance ÂŁ938

Richard Knott - car not yet on the system.

Any help would be appreciated with regards to competitive quotes for me.

I have had a company car from 1993 to June 2005, bought my 1st Saab last year (93 Vector Sport 1.9 TiD 150 with Hirsch Stage 1, was paying around ÂŁ800 a year for that).

Cheers,

Lee

I had had some kind of company car since approx. 1990. My last three being Saabs

I had the insurance companies that insured the cars to write a letter stating the cars that I had and that they had insured, accident history (fortunately none) and used this with the new insurnace company to show the risk they were taking by insuring me.

I think this helped get the premium down. I also have some kind of excess but its not very big!!!

As I said, Adrian Flux were excellent. First year I had the car It ws with Direct Line. When renewal came (early 2003), the premium had gone through the roof. When I called them they didn't seem interested and I just confirmed that I was not renewing and they said fine!!!

Still send me house insurance info.......

Good luck in getting a good but effective coverage.
