This is probably old hat to enthusiasts in the UK, but have you seen the SAAB story on the History Channel?

I do not have cable TV, but a friend here does and he tapes all the programs on Classic Cars - I actually like British cars by the way, especially older ones.

Anyway, he recently taped this SAAB program which gets to the 9000 about 3/4 way through. The scene starts with four 9000s driving backwards off an articulated car carrier travelling at speed. Each 9000 then does a 180 degree spin and this is followed by plenty of very clever precision driving, in fact the best I have seen and I have been in a driving team myself. It includes some substantial tyre smoke and very close quarter driving.

It was produced in 1994 and is very complimentary to the 9000 and the Saab theme. It even discusses why GM targeted SAAB. Seen it - heard of it??

I haven't seen the History Channel program, but have seen the promotional film you're talking about with all that brilliant driving. I think it's called "Saab Suite"?

I do have cable TV but seldom watch it, although when I do bother, I like the History Channel. The only reason I have it is that my Internet connection comes through the same cable.

If any one want's the saab suite video i have it on file but it is a 32.5mb file

,if any one has a broadband conection i will send it to them, it is an amazing clip to see with 8.5 min of action with the best car/stunt driving i have ever seen. Let me know if you need the file.

Its a great video for us 9000 chaps
I've been trying some creen captures to post here - without any luck. I've got it on a mates FTP server - maybe someone's got some web-hotel space so everyone can see it ?? Or maybe help me with a screen capture or two ? It's an .asf file, I've tried with PowerDVD, Photoshop, PSP, Corel etc. Any ideas Kev ? BillJ?

scoll down to the yellow monster beach buggy,the file you want is under this, once it has loaded into m/player ( it will take a while on broadband, forever on 56k) go to file and then save the file to disk.

The copy I was given does not include the credits, but the talking head is Magnus Roland, manager, SAAB Automobile.

He even tells you what SAAB stands for.

I have been told what Saab stands for (on several occasions) but I couldn't recite it now tbh. So I've looked it up on Saab.com ...

"Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget"

i suppose i should not give all my secrets away as i build computers for a living, but no great feat i have a leadteck winfast tv/video capture card, it allows you to screen capture from any format.
