Hi all. I have a 9-3, 2007 manual petrol. A couple of issues have come up recently. Reverse in acting strange. While reverse works there seems to be a resistance. It's strained as if there's something fighting it like the handbrake been on which it isn't. As soon as I depress the clutch the car simply stops rolling and doesn't freewheel at all. Only happens in reverse.
Another issue is a fairly load whining sound that rises and falls with the revs when in forward gears. Noise stops in neutral and when clutch depressed. Are these two issues connected? Any ideas?
