We have a rusty fuel tank in our 95 V4 1973. We are going to change the tank but will then need to clean out the fuel hoses and possibly carb too (although no fuel seems to have got through to the carb and the pipe was dry). Has anyone had to clean out the fuel pipes before and any advice would be welcome.

I managed to clean a tank on my 96 model.
Hope the link works...

I think your tank will have a simular internal set up. The collection box (where the pick up fuel pipe terminates in the tank) is most likely full of crud. The only way to get to the collection box is to cut an access panel into the tank.
See the pictures of this box..Mine was full of it one third of the way up, thus blocking the fuel intake which is only 2-3mm off the deck. No fuel, dry lines etc....ah! remember it well  Best of Luck:thumbsup:
