running out of diesel

funny how something you mention a few days ago happens to you.

I ran out of deisel today. Luckily I was actually in a queue at the petrol station when it happened. unluckily, I now have the engine management warning light on all the time.

filled it up and started straight away, been running for a few miles without problems, but I'll get it into the garage tomorrow to see what they say.

anyone any experience?

Is it the 1.9 Diesel engine you have?

yup, 1.9 (150)

light was out the next day and I spoke to someone else who had said exactly the same thing. Apparently the light comes on for a while then goes out again....simple really

With the 1.9 being common rail diesel, it will put the light on due to the pressure in the fuel rail being too low, once it has run long enough with the pressure back up it becomes a stored fault not current and puts the light out.
