I've reached the centre of the roof to do a sharks fin replacement, so I think you could get under the liner from the edges. You will have to pull off the top of the rubber door seals and unscrew the grab handles. I think that the A pillar trims, which come off easily would be worth removing, but the other bits might need more removal. I would do the rear fixings through the tailgate. There are trim strips all round the edge of the liner and I think the D pillar covers have to come off too. They all pull off. And the two centre roof fixing clips need releasing - just a quarter turn each.
I've seen photos of 9-5 Anniversary models which have silver roof bars, there's a photo on here somewhere of one, not much on google image search results, not sure if they ever shipped with silver bars or not, I don't think I've ever seen one in wild.
I saw a silver estate the same outside Main dealer in town a few months ago, chances of picking some up second hand are slim at least. My car is midnight blue and thought it maybe lighten it up a bit.
You could always try painting them on the car...Tricky to do well though. Of course you would then have to get the door handles and side trims off. Even trickier....
