Hi,

Wonder if anyone knows of this type of panel replacement? My sunroof has perforated corrosion around the leading edge and corners.

I need to replace the roof panel. Any ideas on the best place to get one? I was thinking of a breaker, but not sure if they bother to take them off...

Any comments appreciated!

Good luck on this one, sunroofs are a mare at the best of times.
Best bet would be to get a complete unit second hand & try to get it with a good outer weatherstrip, these can cost about £90
.
I have a similar prob with my CD,but i will wait till the weather gets better,
Happy roofing

Hi Guys,

I live in Coton Green...Tamworth.
The car is currently at the new Tamworth, Saab specialists in Mile Oak. Behind the Mercedes dealership...spits on the floor!!!
Great guys who know their Saab's. Always helping you to save money and robbing themselves in the process.

You will see it around town soon...can't miss it really as it is the only left-hand drive 9000CD in Staffs I imagine...Imported from the motherland...Sweden, of course! Rose Quartz with Colorado Red Leather...like the cowboy boots

Anyway, the roof panel surrounding the actual glass sunroof has decided to rot on the leading edge and 1/4 way along the sides. Been told this is major and not economically viable. Apparently, can't even cut a larger hole for a dodgy glass panel type sunroof.

Thanks for the warm welcome and any info is appreciated. Ray (V8Mondo)

Ray,
Ignore my rambalings, i got the wrong end of the stick, but you will be glad to know i too have a large rust bubble (nsf)on the roof panel just in front of the sunroof (metal)
This will be delt with using filler, sandpaper & a spray can.
My CDS 89' is the same colour as yours, with what i class as the 'PIMP' style red leather.
Happy roofing
G.
