Has anyone come up with a way of retaining the downpipe studs in the turbo? Something like thread-lock but that can stand the operating temperatures involved?

A couple of mine have been vibrating loose and I've actually lost one now. I tried Firegum without success.

Bill, How about manufacturing a locking tab out of s/s. similar to the ones on wheel bearings. Just a thought.

You might try pegging thread or just peening
over the edge of the hole. Pegging would only work properly if you can get to the back of the stud.

I just accept that they come loose

and in fact mine are bolts, not studs and part of my regular "maintenance" is to check/tighten them.
