My 9000 CS 2300cc '94 has a remote alarm and doorlock unit . I think it's a META . The previous owner has lost one of the remotes so I only have one left . Is it possible to duplicate a remote to work with my car without having the central unit removed and recoded ?

On my '97 there was a spare 'key' (it was actually just the metal part of the key) that could be used to make some more, and it also had a small black strip with it that had a number on it.

This strip was the code etc to allow bits to be programmed.

A new keyfob for mine was £45, have no idead what it would cost to be programmed though.

Probably best to phone a dealer and find out what is required for your car.
