I am trying to get a replacement little black box (the remote alarm sender that controls the central looking and alarm on my CSE)

The book says its an IA200 alarm but my local Saab people can't find anything about it even though I have given them all the little numbers from inside.

Any ideas ?

Jon

Glad you like it Jon!

Is this the key fob thing you're talking about? A lot of the alarm fob's were in the shape of a "9". My CS was, and I had to have it replaced using the numbers inside - was directed to a company in Manchester though I'm afraid I can't remember who.

Apologies if this is totally irrelevant! Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

Jon,

A number of Alarm/Ice specialists can burn you a new fob & probably for a lot less than the original item from Saab. Take the spare working fob or the faulty (?) fob to one of these. I had done a while back for a Clifford Alarm. It cost me just under £50 to get the EEPROM burned with the data & worked an absolute treat. They might be able to use a generic (cheaper) fob with the information your alarm needs.

Just look in the Yellow Pages for Alarm companies in your area or check out:-

Good luck!

Hi Jon,
I just looked up the alarm details for my old 9000CS T, which also had the Philips IA200 alarm. This may be a too late or on the wrong track... I had trouble with my FOB (rectangular with single button and red LED) failing intermittently. I first thought it was the internal 12V battery but the old one tested ok and replacing it with a new one only helped for a short time.

It turned out the internal battery contacts were dry-jointed so the connection to the battery was poor and intermittent. I just re-solderd these (carefully). I ended up doing this every few months, whenever the FOB became intermittent.
