Hi, I recently bought my first 9-3 deisel estate, 2008 model, it is a brilliant car and as a single mum of two now hugely tall sons, and dog, I am glad of the extra space. However we are about to test that and go up to Scotland together, so I am thinking of fixing roof bars and putting on my old top-box. That is where I start to worry. Which bars are the best, I have seen some on Facebook marketplace which fit an earlier model (pre 2002 I think), which I am assuming wont be right although they are genuine SAAB ones, I see other ones which are more generic, but I am not sure these would be right, particularly as I seem to have four slots (currently with covers over) on the roof which I imagine are for the proper roof bar fixings. Please if anyone knows or can advise please help. Oh and of course also I am on a fairly tight budget so can't really afford to go crazy. Thank you.

Welcome Sophie
You are correct with the 4 covers being used for a roof bar combination
Those ones on facecloth won't fit .
Try thrule ( I think ) but can get expensive
Halfords yet again can be expensive.
Or there's always good old EBay
But always check the description and ask the seller as much as you want
Because some sellers say it fits or describe it as fitting then when you get it
It's nothing at all like it .
