My rear window defroster doesn't work on my 88 900 convertible. Any suggestions as to where to trouble shoot?

First check to see if you have 12 volts across the defroster grid at the window. If so, the grid may be bad. If not, check fuses.

Test for continuity across the grid. You can buy a pen that can repair the grid.

With me it was the switch on the dash. If you don’t have a spare switch an air-conditioning switch is exactly the same. Try swapping in your air conditioning switch.

Hey there! I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd chime in just in case anyone else is having the same issue. For your rear window defroster, I suggest checking the fuse and the connections to the defroster grid first. It could also be a problem with the switch or the defrost relay. If you're not comfortable troubleshooting it yourself, it's best to take it to a mechanic or auto electrician to have it checked.
