Oh dear! My other half just rang to say that our gleaming black 9000 CSE has suffered a smash from the rear in a pile-up on the M11 this morning. Amazingly little visible damage apparently - car's still drivable (hatch opens fine) more importantly, both wife and daughter unscathed.

Can anyone post though please if they know of a Saab specialist near Cambridge/Saffron Walden (North Essex)? (I'm stuck in Oxford at the mo)

Also I'd really appreciate any advice about what to look for in terms of damage, especially suspension etc (mrs reports "it feels a bit wobbly")

Thanks in advance everybody

thanks for the reply.

The Trumpington address is a main dealer but the same company also has a "Saab independent" branch at Histon, just north of Cambridge on the A14.

Mrs Freddie and bashed car are en route to the latter for a free check up just now - so thanks again for the info!

Depressing news - buckled boot floor and busted bumper so it's beyond economic repair (an insurance w/off).

I'll start a new thread to see if anyone knows of a good 9000 for sale! (every cloud has a silver lining...maybe an Ecopower next time)

if you have decent alloys, change them for steel before the CSE is taken away, I'd be interested in them

Sorry to hear of the loss......

The same thing happened to my 9000CS, rear-ended by a Mercedes S500 years ago. The result was buckled boot floor, plus buckled rear fenders (both sides) as well.

The 9000CS was fixed at the dealer's body shop. They have some kind of mechanical device (called a "Car-o-liner stretcher"?) to straighten up the chassis. The hammering and respraying of the fenders afterwards were easy. I even kept the rear plastic bumber.

The insurer for the Mercedes paid for all these.

Just reporting the arrival of another 9000. We snagged an MY97 2.3 CS LPT with FSSH and 165k on the clock. In gleaming black again!
