I took the this advice from a previous post to clamp the flex pipe on the clutch and if the clutch stays soft it is the master cly with the leak, goes hard it is the slave. result nothing clutch is perfect, before this 8-10 pumps no clutch? If the pipe which is new has a leak in it would it make the clutch go so soft in this short time as the molegrips are only 2 inches down from the res and well above the master cyl. if you look in new car topic you will see the history of the car.

Microcat,

Have just got the news back on my clutch problem and the clutch centre have merely fitted a genuine saab clutch line kit and "bingo - like new". so, 2 hydraulic lines later (last one rated at 20Bar) and the moral to the story is - buy a new genuine saab line set (£60), or follow MarkB's advice and get a complete solid line made up - lesson learned
