Can anyone explain how to remove a radio from a model year 95, Saab 9000? It is the genuine Saab radio.

There are two holes at the top, but none at the bottom, therefore the tools that I would normally expect to use look unlikely to work.

TIA

The Saab 9000 factory Clarion unit requires you to push a correctly sized U-shaped hanger into the two holes at the same time, then gently pull radio forward, disconnect wires and it is out.
Might be easier if you get a cubby-hole from underneath out first.

Just stick similar dia (to the holes) philips headed screwdrivers down the two holes, this pushes the spring clips down you should then be able to 'pull' the radio out.

Alternatively, leave car outside in a dodgy car-park and let a scroat remove it in about 3 seconds

Thanks for the help - used a wire coathanger.

Couldn't find an adapter in Halfords to fit between Saab audio wiring loom and blaupunkt stereo, so it looks like I will either have to wire it in or find a Saab CD player.
